Le Gamberi’s Recommendations

It is therefore possible to prescribe the Special Medical Purpose Foods LE GAMBERI Keto Plus, approved by the Italian Ministry of Health, in therapeutic dietary plans that require a ketogenic diet. These are indicated for the dietary management of drug-resistant epilepsy, glucose transporter type 1 (Glut1) deficiency, pyruvate dehydrogenase deficiency, and glycogen storage disease (GSD) types III, V, VII.

To facilitate the maintenance of a ketogenic diet, LE GAMBERI FOODS S.R.L. has created ready-to-use ketogenic products called Keto Plus. Their particular formulation, characterized by a high fat content, a moderate protein content, and a very low carbohydrate content [ratio (carbohydrates + proteins) and fats…], makes them suitable for inclusion in the dietary management of patients requiring a ketogenic diet.

An important aspect in the application of the ketogenic diet is the issue of food palatability, especially compared to a typical Mediterranean diet. This issue is even more evident in individuals who must maintain such a diet for many years or for life (in the dietary management of Glut1 glucose transporter deficiency syndrome, for example).

The Special Medical Purpose Foods LE GAMBERI Keto Plus specifically intended for the dietary management of drug-resistant epilepsy, glucose transporter type 1 (Glut1) deficiency, pyruvate dehydrogenase deficiency, and glycogen storage disease (GSD) types III, V, VII are indeed available.
The preferred dietary management must be carried out under medical supervision and by the reference specialist teams, who must include the products in individual therapeutic plans to obtain availability through the National Health Service.
